Without wanting to show ANY disrespect to design or photography portfolios, which are VERY important to us, we love getting a commission for a family or personal scrapbook album simply because they are part of our genesis and one of the reasons H&Co started. Not only are they recorders of the here and now, but they will become future heirlooms
And so it was with Danielle Bould’s order for an A3 personalised leather album. Her husband Tom is one of the pilots for the Royal Airforce’s Red Arrows team. Danielle ordered the album along with 40 pages of cartridge paper, attached with hinge strips, with which to create her, or in fact his personal scrapbook of his time as a Red Arrows pilot.
The warm fuzzy bit for us is that any album records a life - there will be Boulds' in generations to come that will look through that leather album with their ancestors name proudly stamped on the front and off course we have become a tiny part of that.
The same will hopefully be done with our clients who are creatives particularly if the portfolio has a name on the front of. While a body of work or images can be stored on sticks or in ‘clouds’, when something is printed out it becomes a physical record of that persons life and work and while professionally important right now it evolves into a record of their life and something for future generations to enjoy and reflect on.
