The brief was we were given pictures of the car and asked to design something appropriate. This 250 GT Tour De France has a distinctive shape, so we traced and re drew the outline. We also included the Italian tricolour flashes at the bottom of the binders that appear on the roof of the car. Each Binder also had separate titles on the spine. Over and above the standard UV printing cost for each, there was an additional 3 hours of design work.

The 1967 Corvette has a distinctive air intake on the hood (bonnet) of the car which is unique to the year and also fins on the side. Our customer wanted these elements incorporated into the design of the binders and the box.
As well as the charge for the fin effect on the side of the box, there was a design charge to create the 'shark' hood effect as well as draw the corvette badge.

In order to recreate the look of the vehicle, we created a recess into the cover into which was placed a board, which was covered with Orange book cloth so that it remained flush with the rest of the leather cover. On either side of this we placed 'chrome' edging which we also used on the box which again reflected the Chevy Blazer.
Further recess's were then cut into the covers and spine so that the custom made logo disks could be placed in. Brass pulls were also added on the spines.

While discussing this project with our customer, we decided to add something that is iconic to the 911 Targa, which are the three air vents that sit on the frame or roll bar of the car. We did this by cutting out a recess in the shape of the vents behind which we placed grey pewter book cloth. Prior to this we had the fabric sent away to have the Carrera and Targa logos colour printed. All the artwork on the binders were also colour printed.
