Used either upright as a multi slipcase for binders or books, or on its side with a drawer as drawer box, either way it’s probably our most versatile box and the enclosure of either some wonderful memories or remarkable presentations.

Product Description

What makes our slipcases so special is the way they are made. All are individually hand crafted around what they will hold. Traditional bindery techniques like double laminated grey board walls that are then step jointed and glued are not widely practised but they offer you the strongest box made from board. Another feature of a Hartnack slipcase is that all are made with a fabric lining. All of these are standard H&Co practises.

Also available to order here are drawers to go inside one or more of the enclosures. Our drawers follow the same bindery practises mentioned above with leather pulls that can also be personalised.

You have a wide range of cover material options from book cloth and hard waring buckram to luxury leathers and an even wider palate of colours allowing you to find the perfect colour combination. 

As all are bespoke, each is made around the book or binder they will eventually house, so we will either be making your album or binder or we will need to know what the size is. Our prices are based around an approximate size of the slipcase and not an exact size as this depends on the book or binder.

Sizes

How sizes work: The size of a multi slipcase is based around the size of the book, binder or drawer that the slipcase is going to contain.

As per the size information on our binder pages, a book, binder, album or portfolio size is in turn, based on its contents.

As the slipcase is built around its contents, we only start to build the slipcase once its contents have been made.

Delivery information

Lead times : Our lead times vary depending upon demand and also the complexity of each order. A wide sweeping though not always accurate estimate is that non personalised orders can be turned around from roughly 2 weeks between ordering and dispatch and personalised ones 3 - 4 weeks. For a more accurate and current lead time, please contact us directly.

How will I know when my order is being made? : Once you place your order you will receive a confirmation order from us, at the bottom of that will be the production week we will be making your order in. Expect your order to be dispatched towards the end of that week.

Once it is dispatched, how does it get to me? : We use a courier company (Fedex or DHL) and we use their fastest service. Once your order has been collected from H&Co, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number as well as updates on the progress of your delivery.

Buckram is a Rayon cloth with an acrylic coating. Used in libraries around the world, it has been tried and tested over many years and it's success is down to its hardwearing properties. A good outer cover material.

Book Cloth is made from Rayon cloth and is tactile feels natural and looks traditional, however unlike buckram, it does not have a protective coating, which should be considered when using it as an outer cover.

Faux (false) leather is also known as 'vegan leather'. We offer textured and un textured faux leather. Though not quite as robust as buckram, it can be easily maintained and easily foiled and embossed.

The luxury and premium cover option, requiring more bindery work, but for you all the advantages of natural leather. A premium feel that is more durable and hard waring than faux leather or book cloth.
