Product Description

The drop back box consists of a single tray sitting on a fold-over cover that wraps over the box. Both the tray and the cover have hidden magnetic closures and it is within this that we place the ring binder mechanism. Each one is made to perfectly fit the contents it is designed to hold, either with plastic page protector pockets (or not) or with tabbed dividers (or not). Should you also want it, we can provide you with a ‘V’ cut out that makes accessing the contents easier.

Each one is individually hand crafted and made bespoke to your specification using traditional bindery methods. Techniques like using double grey board walls laminated together that are then step jointed and glued are not widely practised nowadays, but these will offer you the strongest boxes possible and are the corner stone of H&Co quality.

Each order starts with making your box from scratch (nothing we do is off the shelf). Each board is cut to perfectly fit the contents you want to put inside it. We offer you International as well as U.S paper sizes, but should you require it, bespoke sizes as well.

Available to you is the widest range of ring binder mechanisms from a capacity of 25mm to right up to 100mm with the option of having them in either chrome or black.

You have a wide selection of cover material options from book cloth and hard waring buckram to luxury leathers and an even wider palate of colours therefore allowing you to find the perfect colour combination.

Lastly and should you require it, is the ability to personalise your drop back box This can be done with a single line of text on the cover, or your logo stamped into it, to having full colour logos, text or images digitally inkjet UV printed onto the entire cover.

Sizes

How sizes work: All of our products are bespoke and designed to fit exactly the contents that they are going contain. (The size in the description refers to the size of their contents not the box cover size.)

The size of the box binder is calculated using their contents. We take the size of the contents and then we build out from there.

If the box is going to contain say nothing larger than just A4 paper we add a 2-4mm to the top and bottom of the of the paper, 8mm to the right and then the size off the binder to the left, we then build out the walls of the box from there.

If you will be using A4 paper, page protectors as well as tabbed dividers with tabs extending beyond the plastic page protector pocket, then we will make the box larger again to accommodate this. If you opt for a ‘V’ cut out we won’t make it as wide as usual as the cut out allows for easier access than without the V cut out.

Custom size boxes: As everything is individually hand made, we are able to make custom sizes. You would have to contact us directly to order this, however for an approximate idea on prices, please select the nearest sizes in our options.

Delivery information

Lead times : Our lead times vary depending upon demand and also the complexity of each order. A wide sweeping though not always accurate estimate is that non personalised orders can be turned around from roughly 2 weeks between ordering and dispatch and personalised ones 3 - 4 weeks. For a more accurate and current lead time, please contact us directly.

How will I know when my order is being made? : Once you place your order you will receive a confirmation order from us, at the bottom of that will be the production week we will be making your order in. Expect your order to be dispatched towards the end of that week.

Once it is dispatched, how does it get to me? : We use a courier company (Fedex or DHL) and we use their fastest service. Once your order has been collected from H&Co, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number as well as updates on the progress of your delivery.
