Our slipcases are fully lined inside with fabric and can be made in any size and format and in the widest variety of colours, materials and personalisation options. The perfect luxury accompaniment to any book, album or binder.

Product Description

What makes our slipcase so special is the way they are made. All are individually hand crafted around what they will hold. Traditional bindery techniques like double laminated grey board walls that are then step jointed and glued are not widely practised but they offer you the strongest box made form board. Not all slipcases, unless they’re from the most traditional of bindery’s, offer interior fabric lining. All of these are standard H&Co practises.

You have a wide range of cover material options from book cloth and hard waring buckram to luxury leathers and an even wider palate of colours therefore allowing you to find the perfect colour combination. There is also the option of having half moon ‘finger notches’ cut into the sides of the slipcase, so that they book can be easily accessed (Not available on leather bound slipcases) 

As all are bespoke, each is made around the book or binder they will eventually house, so we will either be making your album or binder or we will need to know what the size is. Our prices are based around an approximate size of the slipcase and not an exact size as this depends on the book or binder.

Sizes

How sizes work: All of our products are bespoke and designed to fit exactly the contents that they are going contain. (The size in the description refers to the size of their contents not the box cover size.)

A slipcase is built around its contents. If it is a portfolio binder that we are making, then we only start to build the slipcase once the portfolio has been made and then we build it around that.

If you would like us to build a slipcase for a book, ideally we would prefer to have the book in hand. If that is not possible, then we would need very accurate measurements of the book.

Delivery information

Lead times : Our lead times vary depending upon demand and also the complexity of each order. A wide sweeping though not always accurate estimate is that non personalised orders can be turned around from roughly 2 weeks between ordering and dispatch and personalised ones 3 - 4 weeks. For a more accurate and current lead time, please contact us directly.

How will I know when my order is being made? : Once you place your order you will receive a confirmation order from us, at the bottom of that will be the production week we will be making your order in. Expect your order to be dispatched towards the end of that week.

Once it is dispatched, how does it get to me? : We use a courier company (Fedex or DHL) and we use their fastest service. Once your order has been collected from H&Co, you’ll receive an email with a tracking number as well as updates on the progress of your delivery.

Buckram is a Rayon cloth with an acrylic coating. Used in libraries around the world, it has been tried and tested over many years and it's success is down to its hardwearing properties.

Book Cloth is made from Rayon cloth and is tactile feels natural and looks traditional. Its is our most popular inner lining, however unlike buckram, it does not have a protective coating.

Faux (false) leather is also known as 'vegan leather'. We offer textured and un textured faux leather. Though not quite as robust as buckram, it can be easily maintained and easily foiled and embossed.
