  •  - Versatility. The Exposed Screw Post portfolio is a really versatile binder, mainly because its capacity is not constrained by having a spine cover. Different volumes of pages can be accommodated simply by swapping over the screw post lengths.
     - Size. As each portfolio is individually made, we can accommodate any size of media including A6, A5, A4, A3 & A2. Simply select the size of the page that is closest to the one you need and then let us know in the comments section the exact size of the page or media that you are placing inside the portfolio and we will make an exact fit for you.
     - It's Bespoke To Your Requirements. As mentioned above we can make your portfolio to any size and any configuration. If there is a particular colour, feature or embellishment you want that's not featured in any of these tabs, just ask.
    - Help. If you are having any problems when placing your order, please feel free to contact us directly. We can't take payments over the phone, but we can certainly help you with placing your order.

    - How is it done? We use the artwork you send us, or that we set out. to create a metal (magnesium) stamping die (picture below) which we attach to our stamping press and then create an impression on to the cover of your portfolio.
              magnesium dies
Where. Your personalisation can be placed anywhere you like. In order to do this we make a metal die of your name/logo. We can also use the same die to stamp, to make a second stamp to stamp the same thing elsewhere, i.e. On the spine (cost £20.00).

Can I have more than one? Yes, you can have as many personalisations as you like, but each will require a new die and therefore an extra charge

  • Size? Is based on the size of the media being placed inside the portfolio or binder. We work on generic international and US sizes, but can make to any size. If the size of the media is not mentioned here we will either ask you to pick the closest size we feature (for pricing purposes) and then you can tell what size the media is, or will make out a special order for you.
     - Orientation? Portrait means the media sits vertically and is bound along the long edge.
Landscape means the media sits horizontally and is bound along the short edge.

     - Protectors, Sleeves or Hinge Strips? This is important for us to know. If your page is being placed in page protectors/pockets, then we must allow for the cover to be larger height and width. Also our H&Co pockets maybe a different size to other suppliers, which is why we ask this question.
If using file or hinge strips, your portfolio will be narrower but longer than page protectors. .

Help? If you are having any problems when placing your order, please feel free to contact us directly. We can't take payments over the phone, but we can certainly help you with placing your order.
What length of screw post?. The length of the posts depends on how much is being placed inside the portfolio. A standard width of 2cm fits approximately 25 page protectors in it.

    • Classic Binder Cover With a Sophisticated Screw Post Binding.  The case bound portfolio is so called because the cover is 'full case'. Unlike our other portfolios which have covers that separate, this one does not.
The case bound binder is just like a book or traditional binder with fixed front cover, spine and back cover, giving it a very clean and traditional look.
Where it differs of course is the screw post binding system, which binds the edges of the pages tightly together just like a bound book. This also means that the pages turn like a bound book with no physical manoeuvring over a metal binder. The screw posts are easy to access and the binding is also hinged to the back cover which makes for easy reading - In all easy to use, but with a premium and luxury feel to it.

      -  Any Size or Format.  What you see in the pictures is an A4, portrait portfolio with a standard 2cm spine, but it could be in any size including A6, A5, A4, A3 & A2 and all the U.S. sizes in between. In any format and with any spine width from 1cm to 15cm.

      -  Bespoke To Your Requirements.  Just like a bespoke suit or dress, this item is custom made just for you. This means that the size, the outer colour, the inner colour whether it has internal pockets or not is completely up to you.

So simple, but as a portfolio or binder so beautiful. The leather is the key to this exceptionally tactile portfolio. We use our 3.5mm thick, Italian veg tanned, top grain leather, which just begs to be picked up and handled. The portfolio comes in A4 size or 8.5" x 11".

The second key is that is can be personalised so easily and so effectively using a blind deboss as an effective way of making it distinctively yours.
Lastly is the practicality of the exposed screw post binding method. Put two pages or put in two hundred pages, it's just a matter of changing the length of the posts. It can either grow with you, or it can be used for multiple presentations with varying number of pages.

Price does not include plastic sleeves.

            -  Provenance & Process.  We source our leather from a UK wholesaler who in-turn sources directly from a tannery in Italy. Our hides are bovine (cow) hides, full grain (top of the skin down) that have been vegetable 'veg' tanned and dyed through. The hides are 'tumble finished', which means they are placed in a large drum and then gently spun or "tumbled" for a period of time. This process breaks down the fibres in the hide, not only making it slightly softer, but also making the surface of the hide more textured. The thinner the hide, the more textured it is becomes.
            - Worth Mentioning.  We use "non corrected grain" hides. (they have not had a false skin grain stamped into the surface). Therefore while we do out best to ensure that we use the best surface available on the front cover, certain skin marks (stretching, bites and scars) may be apparent.
Also, being natural (non corrected) hides, some hides might be more textured (or less textured) than others.
We have a more comprehensive page on leather here.
          • -  Back Inner Cover.  This part of the portfolio holds the binding mechanism in place, so is an integral part of the portfolio.

            - Front Inner Cover. We offer this as either covered or uncovered, as below. If you choose covered it will be in the same material as you choose for the back cover.

            - Binder Mechanism? The best guide we can forward you to is the one we have set out on this page here, Ring Binder Mechanisms, which explains what we have, what we can get and also capacity.

             - Help? If you are having any problems when placing your order, please feel free to contact us directly. We can't take payments over the phone, but we can certainly help you with placing your order.

Where. Your personalisation can be placed anywhere you like on the cover. For instance, the bottom right hand corner or centre and a third of the way up.

                  - How's it done? In order to do this we make a metal die plate of your name. (below)

Having made the metal stamp of your name for the cover, we can also use the same die plate to stamp elsewhere, i.e. On the spine (cost £20.00).

Can I have a different one elsewhere? Yes, you can have as many as you like, but each new personalisation will require a new metal die plate (as above) and therefore an extra charge.

Choose Your Typeface. When ordering you will be asked to choose a typeface/font. A clearer version can be found here, but for reference please see below.

Where. Your personalisation can be placed anywhere you like on the cover. For instance, the bottom right hand corner or centre and a third of the way up.

                  • Our process runs as follows. Your order enters the production queue the moment you check out. Within a few minutes of having placed an order, you will receive via email, an Order Confirmation sheet. At the bottom of this page you will find an expected despatch date. (Please make sure you reply to this email as it ensures we have understood your order correctly and will not start making your order until we have this confirmation).

When do you need it by? We understand that you have an interview deadline, so we will ask you when ordering what that is. If for whatever reason we can't make your portfolio by then, we'll let you know within 24 hours of ordering.

Can there be hold ups? Yes, but these are mainly always down to not getting confirmations back regarding personalisation proofs. If we haven't heard from you we will not get your die made until we hear that you are happy with the spelling and positioning of your name. We get our metal dies made once a week, so we have to have deadlines.

How do you deliver? We use DHL couriers and their next day delivery service. You should get an email from them when your portfolio has been collected from us and tracking details.
