We were commissioned by Amels, a Dutch superyacht company, to make 75 clamshell boxes. They wanted the boxes for the Monaco Yacht Show and specifically requested that each box display an ammonite fossil within.
Since each ammonite is individual, we needed to accommodate every different shape. We traced around the top of the fossil and cut out the shape, so the fossil would rest inside the lid.
We had to emboss the logo on top of the boxes, and it took experimenting with a few different foils and impressions to get it exactly right.
The end product was a sophisticated, bespoke clamshell box, with the logo embossed on the lid and spine in gold foil. When the box is opened, you are greeted with the distinctive swirl of the ammonite.
