We were honoured to make a set of custom ring binders and a clamshell box binder for an historic sixties formula one car, and one that was driven in the 1962 season by none other than Sir Jack Brabham (or just Jack Brabham in those days) and it was in this car that he won the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.
In the late 50’s Cooper dominated Formula 1, with it’s mid engined layout 2.5 litre engine which effectively revolutionised Formula One racing. In 1959 and 1960 Brabham won the World Drivers Championship with Cooper, however regulations suddenly changed for 1961 which lowered the allowable engine capacity to 1.5 litres.
Ferrari was better prepared then the rest of the field for the 1961 season with their 1.5 V6, But in that year Cooper developed the T60 which they fitted a Climax 1.5 litre V8 into. It was in this that Brabham raced his final season for Cooper before setting off to create his own Formula One team. (Yes, the next set we made was for that Brabham).
The Cooper T60 ring binders and clamshell boxes were covered in Jungle Green Faux Leather and White Buckram to match the cars exterior and interior. The cars details were foiled in white on the cover and the spine.
