We call this format flip-over, because instead of going from the left to the right, the pages flip over the top.
If this was a pad of paper however, you’d call it head-bound or top-bound. If it was a small note book, you’d be ordering a shorthand or reporters note book.
Anyway we call it ‘Flipover’ and this was an A3 sized Flipover presentation binder for design agency Acumen Design. While we have done a number of leather flip over portfolios and even the odd flip over screw post portfolio, this was our first official flipper ring binder.
On a totally practical level, as presentation equipment goes, we think this format should work quite well. The pages are easier to handle, particularly if its you (the presenter) turning the pages.
Acumen’s versions here was done in book cloth and the cover featured their logo done in our homemade 250mm stamping machine (more work required before we’re 100% happy with it!)
