Guide To Supplying Artwork
If you have chosen to supply your own print ready artwork layout or logo, please ensure that all artwork sent follows the guidelines below. It is vital that your artwork meets these requirements or your order may be delayed whilst we ask you to make corrections.
If your artwork doesn't meet these guidelines, don't worry! For a small extra cost we can convert almost anything (low res jpegs, a photo or a scanned drawing for example) into a suitable file for your personalisation. We understand not everyone has access to design software so we’re here to help. Simply add our artwork service to your cart, upload your image and we’ll take care of the rest.
Image Requirements If You Are Sending Your Own Artwork for Embossing
Please can you follow the artwork guidlines below

Your artwork has to be a Vector Image
In order to the cleanest and crispest quality your logo or artwork has to be a vector image. These are files with the suffix .ai or .eps
JPEG or PNG are raster images made form pixels and unfortunately aren't acceptable unless they high resolution (300dpi)

It has to be 100% Black on a White background (no colour)
A photo positive image (a photograph) is taken of your logo by the die makers. What is black remains raised, what is white is etched out. The "machine" only works in 100% black and white and hasn't a clue what to do with anything else.

All type and images must be outlined
A common oversight is not having the typeface or font 'outlined'. If this is not done the type is "live' and effectively still code. If we don't have it in our system the file will not load properly.

Our preferred file formats
Outlined files can be sent as .ai, .eps, .svg or as a high res pdf (which contains a vector image). A .jpeg or .png file can only be accepted if at least 300dpi and may require extra work to create into a vector depending on the complexity of the image. You can check resolution in Adobe photoshop under 'image size', if not up to scratch you may need to go back to whoever created your logo to send over the outlined file for you.
If you are sending us your artwork with a layout

Please give us an idea of how big you would like each piece of artwork and where you would like it, even if it is a sketch
If you would like us to, we can send you a template as per the image on the right in pink and you can fill in the details with your artwork (in black).
The more information you give us the more we can get right.

- If artwork (logos & titles) are to be placed in specific sizes and areas on your cover and spine, please ask for a template.
- If any elements in the file are not embedded, then they need to be in the same folder with the file
- Convert all text to outlines (see video below if help is needed), Images and logos need to be be a vector file.
- If using a background colour, this needs to be on a separate layer so it can be easily turned off.
- If necessary, please supply Pantone colour references.
- Lastly, please save as an .ai (Adobe Illustrator) or if .eps be sure to export retaining the page size. PDF-X is the best option if using spot channels.
